Practitioner by day. Educator at heart.
My role at MSOE fuses strategic and operational planning with actionable outcomes that enhance student experiences and demonstrate financial stewardship. My commitments to community, student development, and operational excellence underpin my work, aligning with MSOE’s enrollment management goals and supporting its broader mission.
My passion lies in cultivating intentional partnerships and promoting collaboration across campus to support enrollment management, navigating the intersections of academic, business, and student affairs. Working across traditional boundaries enhances teaching, learning, development, and success while supporting mission and margin.
I have supported students’ academic and social development, facilitated strategic planning and assessment efforts, coordinated accreditation and continuous improvement activities, and led organizational and professional development initiatives.
I am committed to character development and judgment as the foundation of personal, professional, and leadership growth. Cross-cultural understanding and well-being play a crucial role in enhancing development.
I have a Ph.D. in educational leadership with an emphasis in higher education from Iowa State University. Before Iowa State, I completed a master’s degree in student affairs administration in higher education and an undergraduate degree in journalism at Ball State University. While these milestones offer a high-level snapshot of my educational journey, they miss some aspects that (in)form who I am.
I am a trio student (i.e., a first-generation college student with a disability from a low-income home). I am a transfer student. While I completed my undergraduate degree in journalism from Ball State, I began as a double major in marketing and management with a minor in accounting at Indiana Tech. These experiences exposed me to diverse institutional settings. I have persevered through the loss of my parents during my undergraduate education and learned to navigate my graduate education and professional career despite physical and mental health conditions. These experiences defined and refined my empathy and understanding of others.
Additionally, I have committed to lifelong learning through graduate certificates in leadership, organizational change, research methods, and postsecondary disability services, as well as professional certificates in organizational leadership and people and team development.
